Yellow Earth Theatre seeking new writing for Typhoon 2017 showcase (East Asian Writers)

Typhoon 2017 from Yellow Earth Theatre will showcase a brand new selection of bold new writing by UK and international East Asian playwrights this autumn.

All playwrights of East Asian descent* are invited to submit a full-length script for consideration. Each selected script will be given a staged reading at either TyphoonWEST @ Soho Theatre or TyphoonEAST @ Rich Mix in November.

How to apply: please submit your full-length script, a playwriting or theatrical bio/CV with contact information, and the production history of your play (if applicable), as one PDF. Send this to typhoon@yellowearth.org.uk.

All plays must be in English (original or translated) and unproduced in the UK. (If translated, please indicate whether submission is by writer or translator, and who holds the rights to the translation).

All selected writers will receive an honorarium. Only one script per writer please.

Any questions? Please contact typhoon@yellowearth.org.uk

  1. My gene test gives me Asian heritage. I am a Jew whose family are from Russia originally. There was an Asian element in my ancestors. Probably from Genghis Khan. I would be keen to write a play about Jews in China during WW2.
