Critical Mass free 10-week playwriting programme at Belgrade Theatre for BAME writers (Coventry)

Critical Mass is a free 10 week playwriting programme for writers aged 18+from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds.

Previous participants have gone on to have their plays workshopped or performed as a rehearsed reading with professional actors. Spring 2016 saw the first full professional production to come from the programme when Red Snapper by Liz Mytton was produced at the Belgrade Theatre.

There are 20 places available on the programme which will be allocated to the writers who submit the most promising work. The programme will run from September to December 2016 on Tuesday evenings at the Belgrade Theatre.

What to submit: Please submit up to 10 pages of writing intended for performance. This may be an extract from something you have already written or something completely new. Please include your contact details including your name, telephone number and e-mail address with your application. If you are stuck, visit the Critical Mass website for a simple exercise to get you started.

How to apply: Applications will be accepted by email or by post. Submissions should be marked/subject-lined as Critical Mass Submission – FAO C&E.
