Opportunities: Our Pick of the Week – Drift Theatre accepting submissions for Drift Shop scratch night

Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.

This week’s pick: Drift Theatre accepting submissions for Drift Shop scratch night

Description:  Drift Shop scratch night is an evening of new theatre writing and original performance. They are currently looking for playwrights, directors and actors to take part in their next scratch night, which takes place on 30 August 2016 at The Book Club in Shoreditch. Visit their website for full submission guidelines.

What’s so great about it?  Drift Theatre have been running their scratch night, Drift Shop, for a while now and have built up a great reputation by holding several successful events. Drift Shop is a place where emerging artists can preview their work and they aim to provide a space for original work of all genres to be showcased, discussed and enjoyed – so, this is a great opportunity if you want to test something you’ve been working on out on a live audience. The next event takes place at a shiny new venue, The Book Club in Shoreditch, which in our opinion, is definitely worth checking out.
