Barrel Organ seeking scratch submissions for ‘LIVE’ at Camden People’s Theatre

Barrel Organ presents LIVE, a new scratch night taking place at Camden People’s Theatre, for experimental and non-traditional work that specifically acknowledges the presence of the audience and plays with the ‘liveness’ of theatre.

As a company, Barrel Organ try to make work that is self-consciously theatrical; plays with the unique ‘liveness’ that theatre offers as an artform; and continually seeks to explore and deconstruct the relationship between performer and spectator.

LIVE 1 will be the first in what they hope will be a continuing series of evenings curated by Barrel Organ and presented at CPT that seeks to offer the opportunity for emerging, as well as more established, artists and companies to test up to 20 minutes of material in front of an audience, and alongside work that Barrel Organ will be scratching.

LIVE 1 will take place on Sunday 24th April at CPT. Applicants should be aware that they need to be free for the whole day on Sun 24th April for tech, with performances commencing at 6pm.

What to submit:  They’re looking for boldexperimental and uncompromising work that tackles a wide range of issues, agendas and ideas.
