Bravo 22 Company seeking writer for commission (deadline this Thursday!)

Bravo 22 Company is the Royal British Legion’s theatre welfare programme. The Company is currently looking to commission a play (up to 70 minutes in length) to be delivered by January 2015. The play will be performed on 26-28 March 2015 at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre. It is essential that writers have a genuine interest in the subject matter and the project so please do see the website for more information before submitting.

Requirements: They are looking for someone with a desire to tell stories and to give a voice to this community group. They aren’t looking for someone who has an agenda and knows the story they want to tell. The community play will be based on the Armed Forces Community in Buckinghamshire and you will need to be immersed in this world. The successful writer will have the capacity to travel to Buckinghamshire and will be down to earth, quick to adapt to their world and deal sensitively with issues that arise. Some of these stories will never have been spoken before and previously have only been dealt with in isolation. You will also have experience working collaboratively with a director to deliver to the final production.
