West Yorkshire Playhouse accepting scripts until 30 June 2014

Alex Chisolm, Associate Director (Literary) at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, will be leaving on 1 August 2014, and is coordinating a last round of unsolicited script submissions before she goes.  Following this last round of submissions, they do not have plans to accept unsolicited scripts for the foreseeable future, so if you want them to have a look at your script, this is your chance!

Preference is given to writers from their region (loosely Yorkshire, Humberside and its environs), but they do read all scripts they receive.

How to send your script:  Send a hardcopy of your script to:

Alex Chisholm
Associate Director (Literary)
West Yorkshire Playhouse
Quarry Hill
Leeds LS2 7UP

Additional Do’s and Don’ts they have shared include:

  • Put your name and full contact details (address/phone/email) ON YOUR SCRIPT. Not just on the letter that comes with it (even if you have emailed it). Page numbers and legible type are helpful too.
  • Include a Stamped Addressed Envelope if you want your script returned (NB not just stamps or even worse those irritating international mail order things).
  • Include a Stamped Addressed Response Card if you want acknowledgement of receipt.
  • Include the whole script NOT just the first 10 pages.

Deadline: 30 June 2014
