Scene 1, a Loughton (Essex) based writers’ & actors’ group, is looking for short scripts closely linked to the district of Epping Forest. Your script can be fact or fiction, any genre, and 10 minutes up to 30 minutes long.
This is open to writers over 16 resident in and outside the district. However, the scripts must show a genuine knowledge of the Epping Forest district area in the script, whether from experience or research. Please do NOT just whip out place names in a previously written script and replace them with those you’ve googled.
Writers whose scripts are chosen must be able to attend a meeting of Scene 1 in Loughton where his/her script shall be read by professional actors and the writer receive feedback. After that there may be the prospect of one or more public performances!

Loughton is on the Central Line of London Underground. Refreshments served and a bar with reasonable prices is available. Everyone involved who attends a meeting – writers, actors and audience – pays £4 entry fee to cover the costs of the venue and refreshments! Scene 1 will continue accepting scripts on other topics with its usual rolling submission policy.
