Francis Hardy Productions Seeking experienced playwrights and spoken word poets writing about sport

What is it?

FrancisHardy Productions is looking to meet playwrights and spoken word poets who have work, or work-in-progress writing or stories, about sport. Demonstrable experience in theatre and performance is required, due to the demands of audio writing.

Who do they want to hear from?

Writers who have had an active involvement in sport as a participant, competitor, coach, or, possibly, a super-fan. Expressing the beauty and power of sport is important, but this is drama, so they also need to see a balance of energy alongside challenge and dramatic content. You may be writing from a first-person perspective, or it may be semi-autobiographical.

They are NOT seeking stories about abuse or eating disorders in sport, however neurodiverse traits and the role they have in playing or participating in sport is of interest, and how sport at any level may be important in overcoming difficult things.

How to apply?

Please write to sgordon@francishardyproductions.com, email title is ‘Language of Sport’, and introduce yourself and your writing background with a CV and script sample.

Deadline: Sunday 16th February 2020
