LPW Play Club: Submission Window 2 Now Open!

The second submission window is officially open for #PlayClub! We want brand new short plays written in response to this month’s play: Trestle by Stewart Pringle. Selected plays will be given a rehearsed reading at a special event at the end of the year!

Plays must be direct responses to Trestle, this can be anything from the theme to the style to a character to lines of dialogue you liked – the world is your oyster.

And if you haven’t had time to read yet, never fear – you can still read and send in your submissions. And you can also chat all about the play via our Facebook group discussion – open now!

Note: you must be a London Playwrights member to submit a play – details below!

Submission Guidelines

  • Please submit:
  • An original, unperformed short play
  • No more than 10 pages long
  • 12 sized font
  • Double spaced
  • A title and character page
  • Between 2-4 characters

1 Character plays/monologues will be accepted at a maximum of 5 pages, adhering to the same regulations above!

Submissions should be emailed to: playclub@londonplaywrights.org  with a subject line of ‘Play Club Submission – (Writers Name).

As we mentioned previously, plays should be a response to Trestle in some form or another. If you aren’t sure about anything, feel free to ping us any questions either via email or on the Facebook groups.

  1. What happens with successful submissions to Play Club? This explains how to submit, but not what you do with those submissions – are they read/published?

Hi sorry about that, Kate. we’ve now added in a bit more info – but selected plays will be showcased as a rehearsed reading at an event later in the year.

      Best,
      Kimberley

  2. Is it possible to submit more than one play? I am writing something now that is even more appropriate than the one I have already submitted.

  3. Hi, not sure if my previous question was submitted.
Just in case, here it is again.
Is it possible to submit more than one entry, As, something I am writing now is turning out a good response to Trestle?

      Hi Keith,

Sorry we didn’t see this comment before the deadline. You are welcome to send in more than one submission and since we didn’t respond in time, we’d be happy to accept your additional entry if you’d still like to submit it.

      Best wishes,
      Kimberley
