Opportunities – Pick of the Week: Theatre503 accepting submissions for 503five Writers’ Residency

Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.

This week’s pick: Theatre503 accepting submissions for 503five Writers’ Residency

Description: 503five is an 18 month residency that offers writers the opportunity to find their creative home at Theatre503, developing work and experiencing being at the heart of a new writing theatre.

What’s so great about it? This is a fantastic opportunity for an emerging writer to gain hands on experience with a theatre renown for its’ work with new playwrights. The residency will offer writers a seed commission of £2,000 a series of masterclass workshops, peer to peer support, industry connections, R&D processes, dramaturgical support, and opportunities to have work staged. If you want to apply, you’ll need to be quick as the deadline is this Sunday 24th March, but the good news is you don’t need to write anything new – they are asking for a 10 page sample of your work along with an idea for a play that you’d like to develop if chosen for the scheme.
