The Old Sorting Office Barnes seeking new work for Dispatches scratch night

The OSO Arts Centre, Barnes, plays host to its fourth Dispatches scratch night, following on from three straight sellouts that garnered fantastic reviews from audiences, critics and industry figures (read one example at https://markaspen.wordpress.com/2018/12/14/disp-3/)  .

They have received over four hundred submissions so far, with multiple past pieces going onto further productions/being turned into films, and they are incredibly excited to put out the call again. New, untested or developing pieces of theatre – whether self-contained or extracts from longer work – anything’s welcome!

How it works: submissions are already open, and they welcome work from both pre-existing creative teams (with directors and/or actors attached) and lone writers (we’ll help you find the right people to bring your piece to life!) They present eight short pieces and provide a platform for you to see your work staged by the best of the best of up-and-coming actors and directors – along with receiving feedback from the audience.

Submission guidelines:

  • Minimal technical/set requirements, please – anything special, let them know in the form.
  • Pieces should be titled and between 10-15 minutes long.
  • As they would like to make the night as useful for development as possible, they ask that you’re available to attend the show on the 16th April.

How to submit:  please fill in the submissions form and send it (along with your piece) to submissions@justintreadwell.co.uk.

The deadline for scripts is February 10th at midnight.

If you have any questions about the competition, please email laura@osoarts.org.uk
Deadline: 10 February 2018
