In Motion Theatre Company: Playwriting Workshop (Scotland)

A workshop for playwrights of all levels from In Motion Theatre Company, presented in support of their upcoming tour of ‘Shattered’.

‘Writing Someone Else’s Story’ is a three-hour workshop with playwright Lisa Nicoll that explores how writers can creatively respond to real-life narratives without compromising on quality, truth and dramatic potential.

Both practical and discursive, this workshop is for playwrights of all experience levels who have an interest in writing based on the personal testimony of others, and the truth of other people’s experience.

This workshop is offered in support of In Motion Theatre Company’s upcoming tour of Shattered, a new play by Lisa Nicoll exploring grief, isolation and loss, drawn from real life interviews.

Capacity for each workshop is limited to 10 participants. No need to prepare anything, just bring something to write with. Places are allocated on a first-come first-served basis.

Workshop details: The workshop will be held at their offices at the Govanhill Neighbourhood Centre, 6-8 Daisy Street, Glasgow, G42 8JL, running twice throughout May:

Thurs 10th May, 6PM – 9PM
Sun 13th May, 10AM – 1PM

Cost: The workshop costs £12 per participant, with a 20% discount to creatives who have previously participated in a CRAFT, DRAFT or WRITE LINES event with In Motion Theatre Company.

A ticket comprising both a workshop date, and to attend the evening performance of Shattered at Glasgow’s Drygate on the 7th of June, can be purchased for £18.00.
