This week’s pick:Bread & Roses Playwriting Award 2018 open for submissions

Description: The Bread & Roses Playwriting Award is a competition for full length theatre plays that have not previously been produced or published and feature at least half of female, non-binary or gender neutral roles. Submissions for the next award are now open.

What’s so great about it? Another playwriting award I hear you say? Yup, It’s been a busy year so far for playwriting competitions but applying for this one should definitely be on your 2018 to-do list.

The Bread & Roses Award offers up to three winning writers a professional production at The Bread & Roses Theatre in 2019/2020 as well as 10% of the box office income plus a publication of their play by Bread & Roses Theatre and royalties from all sales.

So, if you’re looking for a real chance of a London production and are hoping to get paid for your efforts – you should give this one a shot. All is not lost if you don’t win too, as up ten writers will also get written feedback. Fancy giving it a go? You’ll need to send them your full length play anonymously by 31 May!
